Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview… a professional bard, travelling the world to play the songs he’s written for fame and fortune. Or so he hopes. When he meets Geralt of Rivia, the famous monster-hunting witcher, he has an idea: Geralt’s adventures will provide him ideas for songs, and in return he will change Geralt’s reputation from dour murderer to hero of humanity. Since then he’s been one of Geralt’s few friends, and writer of some very catchy ditties about his battles. In exchange, Geralt hauls him out of trouble, which Jaskier seems to have a knack for getting into.
Personality… outgoing, witty, and flirtatious. Jaskier seldom knows when to keep quiet, or when not to flirt with other people’s wives. But it’s all a part of his greatest charm—his almost irrepressible good humor and friendliness. Jaskier wasn’t afraid of Geralt, despite his reputation as a “butcher”, and neither is he afraid to head into mountains, swamps, or anywhere else in search of a story for a song. He’s prone to getting into sticky situations, and he isn’t much good in a fight, but if you need a compliment or a joke, Jaskier’s your man.
