Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… in the lavish Wayne Manor located in the corrupt city of Gotham. Nine year-old Bruce Wayne is son to philanthropist and billionaire CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Thomas Wayne. However, when Bruce's mother and father are gunned down outside of an opera house, Bruce eventually decides to spend his life serving the people of Gotham and ridding the city of crime.

Living… in the rebuilt Wayne Manor. His home was previously burned down by Batman's old mentor Ra’s al Ghul and his League of Shadows, a terrorist martial arts crew dedicated to destroying the decadence of modern society. For the most part, Bruce spends his time on the streets of Gotham, where the newest threat is the Joker, a terrorist dressed like a nightmarish clown with heavy make up and a Glasgow smile to boot.

Profession… billionaire playboy by day, caped avenger by night. Trained in martial arts, high tech gadgetry and with an unwavering moral compass, Bruce uses the cover of being a superficial and irresponsible spendthrift to shield his identity as Batman. However, the Joker uses this cover to his advantage, and says that one person will die every hour unless Batman turns himself in.

Interests… the people of Gotham. Batman truly believes that deep down the people of Gotham are good, whereas as the Joker is determined to prove that the only thing standing between Gotham and a descent into lawless chaos is a little push.

Relationship Status… pining after Rachel Dawes. Rachel was his close childhood friend, who he later became romantically involved with. Aside from his trusted butler and father figure, Alfred Pennyworth, and Lucius Fox, chairman of Wayne Enterprises and go-to guy for all things gadget related, Rachel is the only one who knows his true identity as Batman. However, Rachel is also romantically involved with the District Attorney, Harvey Dent, who is fighting crime the old fashioned way: through the courts. Who will she choose in the end?

Challenge… saving Gotham from the terrorism of the Joker and his insane clown posse. The Joker wants Gotham to descend into madness. He attempts to kick-start this by assassinating public officials, orchestrating bombings, and even pitting a ferry full of civilians against one filled with convicts as part of one of his "social experiments."

Personality… brave, selfless, and mysterious. Bruce Wayne has a dark past that gives him a shadowy demeanor despite his good intentions. He would do anything for the people of Gotham, even if that means he has to turn himself in to save them.
