Star Wars Series
Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Living… under the tutelage of Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi knight. Obi-Wan follows Qui-Gon Jinn’s every move and instruction, and although Obi-Wan can be snarky about some of Qui-Gon’s decisions, he is a loyal apprentice. They are now caught in the middle of a political battle on the planet of Naboo, where they attempt to protect Queen Amidala from the evil forces of the Sith.
Profession… Padawan, a Jedi in training. Obi-Wan is learning how to wield a light saber, but more importantly, he’s learning how to control the Force with his mind and use that magical power for good. While it is easy to fall under the seduction of the Dark Side of the Force, Obi-Wan has been trained to remain upright and honorable.
Interests… quips and sarcasm. Obi-Wan loves to scold Qui-Gon Jinn whenever he gets the chance: “If you would just follow the Code, you’d be on the Council.”
Relationship Status… single. Obi-Wan is devoted entirely to his studies. Any thoughts about a relationship are far less important than mastering the ways of the Force. He puts his position as a Padawan above all else, and that is why he is on his road to becoming a skilled Jedi.
Challenge… keeping the new apprentice Anakin Skywalker out of trouble. There is great potential in this young Jedi, but Anakin also creates a great deal of controversy because of how easily such power could be used for evil. Obi-Wan is charged with the challenge of bringing up young Anakin to be a good and loyal student.
Personality… intelligent and thoughtful, but impish. He often uses his intellect to form sarcastic quips, such as, “Who’s the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?” In his younger days, he is a bit hard-headed, and often takes the harder of two paths just for the thrill of it. But when it comes down to important issues, Obi-Wan is responsible and respectful. He represents the old ways of the Jedi order: “steadfast, selfless, and modest.”

There is a great disturbance in the Force. . . . From the sleek ships of the glimmering Coruscant skyscape to the lush gardens of pastoral Naboo, dissent is roiling. The Republic is failing, even under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, elected ten years earlier to save the crumbling government. Separatists threaten war, and the Senate is hopelessly divided, unable to determine whether to raise an army for battle or keep the fragile peace. It is a stalemate that once broken, could lead to galactic chaos.
Mischievous and resolved, courageous to the point of recklessness, Anakin Skywalker has come of age in a time of great upheaval. The nineteen-year-old apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi is an enigma to the Jedi Council, and a challenge to his Jedi Master. Time has not dulled Anakin’s ambition, nor has his Jedi training tamed his independent streak. When an attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala’s life brings them together for the first time in ten years, it is clear that time also has not dulled Anakin’s intense feelings for the beautiful diplomat.
The attack on Senator Amidala just before a crucial vote thrusts the Republic even closer to the edge of disaster. Masters Yoda and Mace Windu sense enormous unease. The dark side is growing, clouding the Jedi’s perception of the events. Unbeknownst to the Jedi, a slow rumble is building into the roar of thousands of soldiers readying for battle. But even as the Republic falters around them, Anakin and Padmé find a connection so intense that all else begins to fall away. Anakin will lose himself—and his way—in emotions a Jedi, sworn to hold allegiance only to the Order, is forbidden to have.
Based on the story by George Lucas and the screenplay by George Lucas and Jonathan Hales, this intense and revealing novel by bestselling author R. A. Salvatore sheds new light on the legend of Star Wars—and skillfully illuminates one of our most beloved sagas.- book

From Wikipedia: "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is a video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It is the sequel the original Star Wars for the NES. This is the second of three video games released under the Empire Strikes Back title for home video game systems. It was preceded by a version for the Atari 2600 and succeeded by Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for the SNES. The NES version was released the same year as JVC's Super Star Wars for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. As Empire was released towards the end of the NES's lifecycle, a corresponding sequel to the film Return of the Jedi was never developed, nor released. A version of the game was released for the Game Boy. That product was reprinted and distributed by several publishers over the course of three years."
