(Avoiding Spoilers)
Grew Up… in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, with her mom, Ella; her dad, Byron; and her younger brother, Mike. Aria’s upbringing was creatively stimulating, nourishing, and loving. She didn’t always get along with her little brother, but the two love and appreciate one another. Everything seemed to be going perfectly with her four best friends – Alison, Emily, Spencer, and Hanna – until Alison and Aria caught Aria’s father cheating on her mom with his student, Meredith. After that, Alison constantly threatened Aria with the secret, until Alison mysteriously disappeared.
Living… in Rosewood with her family after living in Iceland for a year. When Aria returned to Rosewood, she felt like a new, and finally mature, person. She’d read a lot and learned a lot and had time away from the bubble of Rosewood to recover from Alison’s disappearance and possible death. But naturally, upon returning to Rosewood, all of the drama she’d left behind starting seeping right back in.
Profession… sophomore at Rosewood Academy. Upon Aria’s return to Rosewood, she met a cute guy at a bar near the local college, pretended to be a college student, and made out with him in the bathroom. Then on her first day back at Rosewood Academy, she discovered that Ezra – the guy she made out with – is her English teacher. So school’s going great!
Interests… fashion, music, writing, reading, art, and photography.
Relationship Status… it’s complicated. She has feelings for Ezra, obviously, but can’t exactly act on them openly given that he’s her teacher. But Aria’s determined, and sees herself as mature enough to have a relationship with a guy several years her senior.
Challenge… keeping her father’s (and her own) secret. Aria is constantly tormented by what her father did and the fact that she decided to keep it from her mother. As if to make matters worse, her friends garnered plenty of secrets before she left for Iceland that have threatened to come to light since her return. And then there’s the fact that she’s considering an affair with her English teacher. Yes, Aria has more than enough drama to keep her busy.
Personality… spunky, witty, and intelligent. Aria is book-smart, but she also harbors a deep understanding of people. She’s very empathetic, kind, and caring, as well as loyal to her friends and family. Mainly interested in the arts and music, Aria is sensitive but spunky, always having something to say or ready to point out when someone’s done something wrong.
