Ugly Betty is about a young woman trying to figure out when to fit in and when to stand out. Betty, because of her humble upbringing, doesn't quite know how to navigate the cunning office politics that govern Mode, a fashion magazine. In a business where appearances are seemingly all that matter and nothing is as it seems, Betty struggles to adapt to the fast pace without losing touch with who she really is.
