Overview... mom and teacher struggling to make ends meet. Her friends are more successful than her while Earn, the father of her child, can be an embarrassment. He’s a manager for her rapper cousin, which isn’t what you want to tell people in the city’s high society. It’s not that Van is a social climber – she just wants to give her daughter the best life possible.
Personality... fun-loving, passive-aggressive, and resourceful. You have to be smart to pay rent when your sometimes-boyfriend Earn only sometimes brings home cash. So when she smokes some weed with her friends before a drug test at work, Van cooks up a plan to smuggle her daughter’s urine to school. Earn isn’t the only one in the family who knows how to hustle.
