Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Living... a thousand years in the future after accidentally freezing himself in a cryogenics lab as the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve 2000. As he put it after waking up, "My parents, my co-workers, my girlfriend… I'll never see any of them again… Yahoo!"
Profession... delivery boy, in both the past and in the future. Philip got himself into this whole mess after being pranked into delivering a pizza to an I.C. Weiner at the cryogenics lab. And when he wakes up, optimistic about a second chance at life, he is assigned to be a delivery boy once again. At least this time, instead of pizza, he gets to bring packages around the galaxy for his distant descendent Professor Hubert Farnsworth.
Interests… laying around, watching TV, and playing video games. He may have been transported to a world inhabited by aliens and robots, but he'd still rather spend his time in front of a screen.
Relationship Status... recently dumped in the 20th century and now pining after Turanga Leela after he arrives in the future. Turanga is a one-eyed alien who works with him on the Planet Express delivery crew, but she wants more than a dumb, lazy slacker to spend the rest of her life with.
Challenge... adjusting to life in the future and surviving his new delivery job. Almost every trip to the far reaches of the galaxy leads to a death-defying escape, and he doesn't even have the familiar comforts of 20th/21st century New York to help him through these tough times.
Personality... naive, sweet, kind, and deeply, deeply stupid. Philip is as immature as his new best friend, the crude robot Bender, and is as dumb as, well, someone who missed out on a thousand years of technological advancement. But what Philip lacks in smarts, he makes up for in a caring and protective nature toward his new co-workers on the Planet Express crew.
