Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Living... on the USS Enterprise in the midst of a five-year mission exploring the final frontier and “boldly going where no man has gone before.”
Profession... former communications officer on the USS Enterprise, managing the transmissions with other ships. She has become a lieutenant and bridge officer, filling in at different positions and excelling at all of them.
Interests… singing. Uhura was a record-setting track star back on Earth as a kid, but now she relaxes by singing for the rest of the crew. Spock even accompanies her on the Vulcan lyre, which is much prettier than it sounds. She also enjoys collecting various artifacts to commemorate her African heritage.
Relationship Status... single. Uhura has developed deep friendships with her fellow crew members aboard the Enterprise, but hasn’t pursued anything serious yet. After all, they’re too busy dealing with the Romulans and mirror universe versions of themselves to sneak in make-out sessions on the bridge. She has kissed Kirk once, but that was under the control of powerful telepaths, of course.
Challenge... helping the Enterprise stay in one piece. Uhura faces the same challenges as the rest of the crew, including renegade spacecrafts, aggressive aliens, and mysterious planets – not to mention in-fighting among crew members like Bones and Spock.
Personality... private, composed, and brave. Uhura handles the difficulties of her job with poise and grace. She’s smart and confident in what she can do, and is always willing to come to the aid of someone, even if that means putting her own life at risk.

Along with his Captain James T. Kirk and the rest of his crew, Mr. Spock is in the midst of a five-year mission exploring the final frontier and "boldly going where no man has gone before." Spock's Vulcan heritage leads him to suppress his emotions and let logic lead his life. This is especially helpful in his role as advisor to Captain Kirk, who has a tendency to dive into situations without thinking them through.
