Dante Hicks

Living… in Leonardo, New Jersey, with his parents. He knows he can't stay here for the rest of his life, but what he’s got going now is comfortable. It's enough. He knows that's a miserable way of thinking about it but until he's forced to change, that's the way it's going to be.

Profession… clerk at the local Quick Stop convenience store, where he deals with mind-numbing stupidity every single day. Just today an angry mother called the state division of taxation and complained that he sold her five-year-old daughter cigarettes. They sent the Health Board down, and Dante had to listen to some supervisor lecture him for something his best friend Randal Graves did. That's a typical day.

Interests… debating Star Wars trivia with Randal. The last talk they had was about the Death Star and whether the first one they built was completely operational before the Rebels destroyed it.

Relationship Status… confusing. Dante’s with Veronica right now and he likes her even though they fight every day. The real problem is his ex-girlfriend Caitlin Bree. He can't get his mind off her – he found out she's getting married and he’s been obsessed with her since.

Challenge… figuring out what he wants. Veronica doesn't want to hold his hand while he figures it out. She wants Dante to get out of this dump and back to school, to take charge of his life, and find direction. She even transferred so maybe he would be more inclined if she was with him. And he feels like he’s screwing it all up. As he says continuously about wasting his day at work, “I'm not even supposed to be here today.”

Personality… responsible. It's everybody else who wreaks havoc, but he shows up even when he’s not supposed to! And he still gets paid obscenely little. Running the store gives him the illusion of independence, yet it’s the one thing keeping him down. Still, where else is he supposed to have fun? He loves the constant debate. He’d be talking about Star Wars regardless. Might as well get paid for it.
