Overview... a former bohemian-turned-yuppie sell-out. Or at least that’s how his friends would describe him. Benny used to rebel against the mainstream, but that all changed when he married Alison Grey of the Westport Greys, a wealthy family with ties to the real estate industry. Now Benny is the landlord of the apartment complex he once lived in – and he’s charging his former roommates a year’s worth of rent.
Personality... slick, charming, and aspirational. While his friends reject the world of “sell-outs,” Benny is happy to blend in with the rich and successful. He’s eager to launch his career in real estate and he doesn’t particularly care if he has to displace a few squatting homeless people along the way. But underneath his sleek corporate exterior, Benny still has some of the generosity his friends once valued in him.

This rock opera tells the story of one year in the life of a group of bohemians struggling in modern day East Village New York. The story centers around Mark and Roger, two roommates. While a former tragedy has made Roger numb to life, Mark tries to capture it through his attempts to make a film. In the year that follows, the group deals with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life.
