In South Park, the adventures of four young boys in rural Colorado become a means for the show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, to ruthlessly satirize current events, celebrities, politicians, and to posit their essential thesis, which is that adults are idiots. Crass and deeply perverse, South Park is not for the faint of heart, but the show's predilection for "going there" accounts for both its funniness and insightful social commentary.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail loosely follows the legend of King Arthur. Arthur along with his squire, Patsy, recruits his Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot and Sir Galahad the Pure. On the way Arthur battles the Black Knight who, despite having had all his limbs chopped off, insists he can still fight. They reach Camelot, but Arthur decides not to enter, as "it is a silly place".
Parks and Recreation takes place in Pawnee, Indiana. It is smack in America's heartland, and the lead character Leslie Knope puts the "heart" in Pawnee. Leslie and her colleagues not only face a dwindling budget and endless red tape, but they also have a boss from Hell named Ron. Ron, a staunch libertarian who believes government should do as little as possible. Leslie and her team work double-time to pick up the slack.
Jessica Jones used to be a superhero, but she hung up her cape years ago. She dated a guy named Kilgrave who could psychically control her mind and she did things under his control that no hero would do. Now she just wants to make a living as a private investigator so she can drink enough to forget her past.
Bianca, a tenth grader, has never gone on a date, but she isn't allowed to go out with boys until her older sister Kat gets a boyfriend. The problem is, Kat rubs nearly everyone the wrong way. The Office follows the employees of a branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The region is led by Michael Scott, who has an unorthodox managerial style. Unfortunately, not everyone is entertained by Michael.
