Shoyo Hinata began playing volleyball after seeing the "small giants" who played the sport when he was in elementary school. Cute, colorful, and fun, Tokyo Mew Mew has been well-received as an entertaining entry in the magical girls manga world. The story doesn't take itself too seriously, and there's plenty of cute outfits, sparkly backgrounds, and romantic storylines. Lurking somewhere underneath that is a environmental message, but it tends to take second place to the five girls' adventures. Artist Mia Ikumi's drawings are just as free-flowing and high-energy as the main character's personality. Tokyo Mew Mew is like a piece of cake—sweet and enjoyable.
A third-person tactical shooter from Epic, Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet. Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play, whether it be with A.I. partners or human players (with A.I. teammates designed with specific strengths, weaknesses and personalities.) In addition to voice chat, gamers will be able to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player achievements, customize their games, and build and personalize their gamer profiles over Xbox Live.
Splatoon is primarily a team-based third-person shooter which is playable by up to eight players in 4-vs-4 matches, although the game also features a single-player campaign. Players control characters called Inklings, wich can change between human form and squid form. Transforming into a squid allows players to swim through ink of their own color, even up walls and through grates, hiding from the enemy and replenishing their ink supply in the process.
The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.
