Since Naruto's dead father was the former leader of his village, Naruto is next in line. But as a 12-year-old, Naruto would rather pull pranks and eat ramen. As a (failing) student at his village's ninja academy, Naruto is assigned to a team with two of his fellow classmates, aloof Sasuke and intelligent Sakura. Under the leadership of mentor Kakashi, the unlikely trio must learn to overcome their differences and work together.

Set at the "Death Weapon Meister Academy", the series revolves around three teams, each consisting of a weapon meister and weapon that can transform into a humanoid. Trying to make the latter a "death scythe" and thus fit for use by the academy's headmaster Shinigami, the personification of death, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch, in that order; otherwise, they will have to start all over again.

In Undertale, the player controls a human child as they navigate the fictional Underground: a large, secluded region underneath the surface of the Earth. The inhabitants of the Underground are called "monsters", a diverse and intelligent group who have been banished from the surface following a war with humanity. The child interacts with many monsters on their quest to return to the surface, with the player making decisions on whether to kill or befriend them. These choices affect the outcome of the game to a large degree, with the dialogue and story outcome changing based on their decisions.
