Zeek Braverman

Living... with his wife Camille in their big beautiful Berkeley house. She has room to paint, and he can work on old cars. And their daughter Sarah just moved in with her two kids to the guest house out back. It’s nice to have a full house again.

Profession... retired after a life of bouncing around from job to job. The one that made the biggest impact was when he was member of the armed forces during the Vietnam War. It taught him important skills like barking orders at his kids and expecting too much in return.

Interests… fixing up cars and trying to get his kids to go on manly camping trips. He also acted a bit when he was younger and is thrilled to take a role in a reading of a play written by his daughter Sarah.

Relationship Status... married to Camille for over 40 years. While he enjoys the life they’ve made for themselves, she wants to keep growing and changing. But are they growing apart? Or does he need try harder to adapt to this new stage in their life together?

Challenge... fixing his mistakes. Zeek has a few secrets he’s been keeping from Camille – secrets that could destroy their marriage. He cheated on her and made bad investments that have dug them into a hole financially. He often advises his kids to be honest and confront their problems head on, but sometimes it’s hard to practice what you preach. 

Personality... stubborn and abrasive. Zeek’s stuck in his ways, which not only makes his marriage difficult – it puts a strain on his relationship with his kids. He doesn’t let others tell him what to do, especially his wife: “I don't want to listen to your mother! I'd rather listen to the air in the sprinklers!” That hard-nosed attitude comes from a place of love, though. He may not always say the right thing, but Zeek cares about family more than anything else and just wants what’s best for everyone. But if you ask his kids, they’d say they can figure things out on their own.
