Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Living… in a small but cozy den in the Hundred Acre Woods. It has squishy chairs, a couple of pictures, and lots and lots of honey.
Profession… honey-gatherer. It’s not really a profession, but Pooh does take it very seriously. Bears need honey for complete happiness, after all. He is also well respected for his poems and “hums,” which he uses to entertain himself and his friends.
Interests… honey, of course. But Pooh also loves to socialize with his friends, go on adventures and play a game he invented called Poohsticks. It involves dropping sticks off one side of a bridge, and then going to the other side to see which stick drifts out first.
Relationship Status… single. Pooh-bears don’t really date. But Pooh spends plenty of time with his friends, especially his best friend in the world, Christopher Robin. As he says of Christopher: “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”
Challenge… finding honey and keeping away from bees. Occasionally there are suspicious animals that Pooh and his friends have to monitor carefully, but they usually end being friendly too. Pooh’s perfectly fine having a clear schedule: “Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.“
Personality… slow and bumbling, but wise. Pooh freely admits he’s not very smart, and he doesn’t like big words. But he does have a lot of common sense, and his advice is typically sound. For a small bear, he has a very large heart, and will help out his friends when they need it.
