Willow Rosenberg

Living... in Sunnydale, California, a town that is overrun by evil forces. In an attempt to combat them, she has become part of the newly established “Scooby gang.” Willow is the gang’s researcher and computer expert. The other members include Xander Harris (her best friend since childhood), Giles (the school librarian), and Buffy Summers (a new girl at their high school). Although three of them are only teenagers, they might be Sunnydale’s best hope. 

Profession... world-class student, witch, and one of the best friends anyone – Slayer or not – could ask for. Willow is a straight “A” student at Sunnydale High School. She is one of the brightest students and is often ridiculed by cooler girls at school. It’s not easy being considered a nerd, but Willow knows how important her studies are. As she says, “You remember, you fail math, you flunk out of school, you end up being the guy at the pizza place that sweeps the floor and says, ‘Hey, kids, where's the cool parties this weekend?’ We've been through this.” 

Interests... books, technology, and magic. Willow is also a member of just about every academic club on campus. When not aggressively studying, she’s assisting the Scooby gang and researching demons. 

Relationship Status… single, but hopelessly in love with her best friend, Xander. They “dated” when they were five years old, but there hasn’t been anything romantic between them since then. Willow has not had much experience with other boys, and talking to them gives her anxiety. She admits, “When I'm with a boy I like, it's hard for me to say anything cool, or witty, or at all. I can usually make a few vowel sounds-then I have to go away.” 

Challenge... gaining more confidence. A bit nerdy and awkward, Willow can be unsure of herself at times. But fighting to protect Sunnydale is helping her blossom into a more self-assured person. Of course, that’s assuming she can stay alive in a town situated directly over Hell.

Personality... quirky, shy, loyal, insightful and extremely intelligent. You may look at her, and it’s kind of hard to imagine her wreaking hell on vampires and demons on a weekly basis. A straight-A student prone to stumbling over her own words, Willow seems sweet to the point of harmlessness. But don’t be fooled by the fuzzy sweaters and stuffed animals. Willow may not start out as the most confident character, but as she discovers magic, she quickly grows into her own. But even after preventing the apocalypse multiple times, she’s still as quirky as always. Just goes to show, you can defeat the forces of evil and still get emotional over kittens on the Internet.
