Living... alone in a nice London flat, but a 12-year-old boy named Marcus has been coming around annoyingly often. Marcus said he doesn't feel comfortable going home since his mom attempted suicide.
Profession... basically retired, even though he’s still in his 30s. Since Will’s father died and Will inherited his royalties from an immensely popular if cheesy Christmas song, he hasn’t had to work. So he finds other things to keep him busy. As he says, "I often wonder, to be absolutely honest, if I'd ever have time for a job. How do people cram them in?"
Interests... beautiful women. In order to help him get dates, Will has been posing as Marcus' father. Apparently, women go crazy for single dads – especially when they have geeky sons.
Relationship Status... dating Rachel. He met her through Marcus – she thinks Marcus is his son – and Will is starting to fall for her. But how does he take it to the next level when the relationship started with a lie?
Challenge... getting his life back. Since Marcus came into his life, everything is out of whack. And he’s not sure he can handle all the responsibility. After all, Will doesn't even know what he's doing with his life. How can he help someone else?
Personality... superficial and immature. It’s not entirely clear who the “boy” in the title is: Will or Marcus. But maybe by pretending to be a dad, Will might actually learn to care about someone other than himself. Hey, it beats working for a living!

Will Freeman is a hip Londoner who one day realizes that his friends are all involved with the responsibilities of married life and that leaves him alone in the cold. Passing himself off as a single father, he starts to meet a string of single mums, confident in his ability to leave them behind when they start to ask for a commitment. But Will's hope of a continued bachelorhood is interrupted when he meets 12-year old Marcus, in many ways his complete opposite.

And it seems to go quite well at first, until he meets an actual twelve-year-old named Marcus, who is more than Will bargained for.

Though Will soon discovers that a young boy is a "chickmagnet." They strike a deal that Marcus will pretend to be Will's son and, in return, Marcus is allowed to hang out at Will's house.
