Wendy Byrde

Living... in Missouri at the lake of the Ozarks with her husband Marty, teenage daughter Charlotte, and young son Jonah. It’s a drastic change from their urban life in Chicago. 

Profession... former political operative for a number of Illinois state politicians, including Barrack Obama. Now she is her husband’s partner in crime, helping him launder money for a Mexican drug cartel. After Marty’s business partner was shot dead by the cartel, their lives depend on it.

Relationship status... married but not happily. Marty hired a private detective and caught her cheating with an older man she wanted to run away with. Nothing has turned out like anyone planned.

Challenge... looking out for her children who desperately miss Chicago and don’t have any clue about how bad things are. She wishes that Marty could clean up his mess on his own so that she could live a normal life with her kids somewhere else. 

Personality... practical, determined, and caring. Wendy can let her feelings cloud her judgment at times, and she wants nothing more than for Jonah and Charlotte to be happy. When she is with them, she shows how caring and generous she is. But when others threaten her family, watch out. Wendy can turn cold and calculating.
