Victor Salazar

Grew Up… in Texas. He moved to Georgia in high school. Victor is the oldest of three siblings, his younger sister, Pilar, is a freshman in high school and the youngest is named Adrian. His family is Puerto Rican, and his parents hold some of the more traditional values and beliefs embedded in Hispanic culture.

Living… in Atlanta in an apartment with his family. Victor is best friends with his awkward but friendly neighbor, Felix. Victor also quickly became friends with Mia, a popular student who has a crush on him, and her best friend Lake.

Profession… barista at Brasstown Coffee Company and sophomore at Creekwood High School. He works with Benji, another sophomore at Creekwood.

Interests… basketball. Victor is amazing at it. He is quickly noticed for being a star player in his school’s team, the Grizzlies.

Relationship Status… it’s complicated. Victor has a lot going on, but he also has a people in his life to help him, including Simon Spier, a Creekwood alum who had previously come out as gay and serves as a mentor. 

Challenge… deciding when and how to come out at school but also at home. In a message to Simon, Victor says, “Screw you for having the world’s most perfect, accepting parents. The world’s most supportive friends. Because for some of us, it’s not that easy.”

Personality… humble, polite, social, and selfless. Victor is looking out for the people he loves, and while tends to put their interests before his own, he is working on becoming more assertive.
