Tobias Beckett

Grew Up… on the planet Glee Anselm.

Living... wherever his criminal work takes him. The only people Beckett cares about are the other members of his gang of thieves, so his home is wherever they are.

Profession... professional thief. Beckett works for the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate and gets paid to pull off complicated heists. His team is made up of fellow thief Val and pilot Durant. One of Beckett’s particular skills is posing as authority figures in order to get his crew wherever they need to go. His biggest challenge is dealing with a rival group of raiders run by Enfys Nest.

Interests... learning to play the valachord. Too bad he’s tone-deaf.

Relationship Status... very much in love. In addition to working together, Beckett and Val are also a loving couple. As Val puts it, everybody needs somebody, even a “broken down old crook” like Beckett. Beyond romance, Beckett’s most important relationship is as a mentor to Han Solo, the young would-be smuggler Beckett takes under his wing.

Challenge... making up for a failed heist. Crimson Dawn isn’t the sort of organization you want to disappoint, so after failing to steal a shipment of coaxium fuel, Beckett is lucky to get a second chance to make it up to menacing crime boss Dryden Vos. Beckett teams up with his new allies Han and Chewbacca, as well as Vos’ top lieutenant Qi’ra, on a seemingly impossible mission to the space mines of Kessel.

Personality... a survivor. Beckett doesn’t romanticize life; he’s a realist and he’ll do whatever it takes to make it through the tough world he’s stuck in. As he puts it, “Assume everyone will betray you, and you will never be disappointed.” He’s a master thief and a master liar who’s calm in a crisis and able to think on his feet. He can be blunt and stoic at times, but he’s not cold, exactly. In fact, he tends to be warmhearted and almost fatherly in his demeanor towards Han. At the end of the day, however, Beckett will always do what he needs to do to survive.
