Thelma Dickinson

Living… with her husband, Darryl, who treats her like a child. Thelma had enough of his philandering and temper tantrums, so she left for the weekend with her best friend, Louise. Darryl wouldn’t have let her go if she asked, so she left a note on the microwave that she’ll be back in a few days.

Visiting… the open roads with her best friend, Louise, in a 1966 metallic T-Bird convertible. She put on her white tank top and blue eye shadow and brought her fishing poles, ice cooler, and Polaroid camera with her. She also packed a gun she keeps in her nightstand. Thelma thinks you never know when you’ll need a gun; after all, there might be a serial killer on the loose.

Profession… housewife. Thelma had been waiting around the house with her main role to make Daryl dinner. She needed a break from that. Louise said that Thelma has become sedate with Daryl. But as Thelma says to Louise, “I’ve had it up to my ass with sedate… You said you 'n' me was gonna get out of town and for once just really let our hair down. Well darlin', look out 'cause my hair is comin' down!”

Interests… smoking, drinking Wild Turkey straight up, and line-dancing to country music. Thelma hasn’t got to do that in a long time, so she begged Louise to stop at a honkey tonk bar they drove by.

Relationship Status… loyal to her husband. But with her husband not appreciating her, she is looking for attention elsewhere. At the bar, she met an attractive guy who asked her to dance.

Challenge… feeling a bit dizzy from the drinking she and Louise have been doing. And the guy she met is aggressively hitting on her even though Thelma told him she is married. Unfortunately, he doesn’t take no for an answer.

Personality… in development. Around Darryl, Thelma had become meek and insecure. He constantly put her down, which eroded her self-esteem. But the journey with Louise has been good for her. Thelma is coming out of her shell in a big way – becoming much more fun loving and confident.
