Overview… a great warrior, trapped in stone. After being cheated out of his powerful, magic staff by the evil Jade Warlord, the Monkey King was transformed into a statue. Luckily, he was able to cast the weapon into another realm before the terrible deed was completed. Now the Monkey King waits for a Seeker, the one person who can retrieve the staff and free its rightful owner.
Personality... jovial, mischievous, and a bit too trusting. The Monkey King was once a court favorite of the Jade Emperor, who found his antics extremely amusing. But the Jade Warlord wasn’t so impressed by the impish warrior, however, and tricked him into relinquishing his source of power.

An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself travelling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King.
