Overview... an activist who apparently upset the wrong people. Tessa sought to pressure international drug companies to lower prices and stop using Africans with AIDS and tuberculosis as test experiments. After uncovering a conspiracy involving a pharmaceutical company using experimental drugs on Africans, Tessa was murdered. That left her husband Justin, a British diplomat, to take up her cause and finish the job.

Personality... selfless, feisty, and humanitarian. Though born into privilege, Tessa devoted her life to those less fortunate. Outstandingly intelligent and enormously courageous, Tessa always set her sights on the hardest problems, going directly to the source of the conflict with little regard for her own safety. Passionate, charming, and fearless, she wasn’t afraid to criticize those in power, inspiring others to take up her mantle in her absence.
