Tara Thornton

Overview… the product of a tough childhood in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Tara’s parents were alcoholic and abusive, and she often fled to the nearby Stackhouse home. She befriended Sookie Stackhouse, who was also suffering as a result of ostracism caused by her telepathy. Tara didn’t mind Sookie reading minds, and they’ve been best friends ever since. Now Tara’s a working adult, making her own way, but Sookie and she are still inseparable. Even if Sookie’s decided she wants to date a vampire.

Personality… complex. Tara is sassy and blunt, and she doesn’t hide her opinions from either her friends or enemies. But inside, she is actually quite vulnerable, scarred by the abuse from her family, and all-too-aware that she could be the next Thornton failure. And with vampires coming out of the woodwork in Bon Temps, and other, even stranger things emerging, something is bound to push Tara to see how fast she breaks.
