Living… in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and children.
Profession… military officer and prosecutor. As a Marine Prosecutor, he works at the Pentagon, but he travels frequently to military bases across the United States.
Interests… football, religion, his family, and justice. When he’s not working (which is rare), he is a goes to church with his family and watches football on TV.
Challenge… leading the prosecution of Mohamedou Ould Slahi. Slahi is believed to have recruited the terrorist who drove one of the planes (with Stuart’s friend aboard) into one of the towers of The World Trade Center on 9/11. There are multiple files of evidence over the years on his actions. It is Stuart’s job to validate this evidence and present a case that will keep Slahi locked up at Guantanamo Bay. Stuart will have to face the feisty Nancy Hollander in court, as he begins to uncover the truth about the United States military agenda.
Personality… calm, intelligent, and fair. Stuart is an individual who never gets rattled, regardless of how tense a situation may get. He understands the legal and military system well, and he respects those who have authority over him. But he is also an honest person who believes in the law and human rights. Stuart is very connected with his faith at home as well in his work. And as he uncovers the abuse and torture of prisoners at Guatanamo Bay, he starts to realize that "what's been done here is reprehensible."
