Character Analysis

Overview... a chemical weapons specialist for the FBI. Stanley is a “chemical super freak” thrown into a Navy SEAL military operation to save San Francisco from a group of domestic terrorists who have hijacked some US Army chemical weapons and are threatening to fire them from the abandoned prison on Alcatraz Island. Nothing can prepare Stanley for the fight of his life – except maybe the tutelage of aging British prisoner John Mason, who is the only Alcatraz inmate ever to escape the island.
Personality… nerdy, but aggressive and snappy. Stanley knows what he likes; for instance he openly talks trash about the audio compression of CDs in comparison to his beloved Beatles vinyl records. His distaste for blood and violence is quickly put on hold when his life and the lives of those he loves are put on the line. Stanley is the kind of man who will rise to any challenge – even if he might complain about it much of the time.

A group of renegade marine commandos seizes a stockpile of chemical weapons and takes over Alcatraz, with 81 tourists as hostages. Their leader demands $100 million to be paid, as restitution to families of Marines who died in covert ops. Otherwise, he will launch 15 rockets carrying deadly VX gas into the San Francisco Bay area.
