Character Analysis

Grew up… in an egg. As a young larva, Spyro was stolen by egg thieves, but the determined dragon used his fire-breathing capabilities and hatched on the spot, scaring off the thieves.
Living… in the Dragon Realms. Spyro lived peacefully with his elders, until one day an evil villain showed up and froze all of the adult dragons into crystal statues.
Profession… heroic dragon. Spyro is just a young dragon, so he didn’t really have any responsibilities until the villain Gnasty Gnorc threatened the safety of his home.
Interests… skateboarding, racing, and hanging out with his friends. Spyro likes to challenge his friend Hunter the Cheetah to see who’s faster.
Relationship Status… single. Spyro doesn’t really care about romance, but a young pink dragon named Ember is infatuated with him, much to his displeasure.
Challenge… to stop the evil Gnasty Gnorc and various other villains from wreaking havoc in the Dragon Realms. It seems like bad guys are always snatching up the precious dragon eggs. They’re jealous of the power that the dragons have and want to take control of the world for themselves. Spyro has no patience for this nonsense.
Personality… cocky, enthusiastic, and mischievous. Spyro gets himself into a lot of trouble around the Dragon Realms for his curious spirit and reckless nature, but he always gets out of it by saving the day.

SPYRO: Year of the Dragon marks Spyro's third PlayStation game, and the little fellow keeps getting into deeper and deeper jams. In this 3D adventure he's determined to retrieve 150 eggs that the evil Sorceress has stolen from Dragonworld. To survive, Spyro is going to have to utilize all of his signature moves along with several he's recently picked up, like the ability to control vehicles like tanks, submarines, and speedboats. SPYRO: Year of the Dragon continues the trend of ultra-fun but non-violent action games featuring the lovable oversized lizard, but unlike most non-violent games this one has plenty to offer all game fans. As an extra bonus, you have the option to choose from a wacky cast of characters: Sheila, the kangaroo; Sergeant Byrd, the flying penguin; Bentley, the Yeti; and Agent 9, the space monkey.

Gnasty Gnorc has returned from exile and has unleashed evil magic on the Dragon Realms, trapping the Dragons in crystal and raising an army of Gnorcs. Spyro, with his friend Sparx the Dragonfly, is the only Dragon left who can traverse the six Homeworlds, free the Dragons and save the day. Guide Spyro as he glides through the Dragon Realms, toasting colorful enemies with his fiery breath and encountering countless puzzles and adventures along the way.
