Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living… in Japan at the UA High dorms.

Profession… a high school hero course teacher by day, and an underground pro vigilante by night under the name of “Eraserhead.” Through his erasure, he is capable of erasing most powers momentarily. This ability is utilized both in and out of the classroom, fighting crime and training students.

Interests… salty licorice and cats. Aizawa would never pass up an opportunity to use logical ruses on his students. Despite the belief of his students, it is not torment but rather necessary preparation for the harsh realities that come with becoming a hero.

Relationship Status… single, never married. Aizawa holds no romantic interest in anyone and possibly considers romance to be illogical. Regardless, Aizawa holds deep relationships with his group of close friends. His circle is small, and he has no issue with that. As it stands, his childhood friendships require enough social interaction.

Challenge… training and protecting the next generation of heroes. Aizawa warns his students at the beginning of the course how tough of a teacher he will be: "I'm sorry to tell you that for the next three years U.A. will run you through the wringer. That's Plus Ultra."  Despite his seeming disinterested demeanor and the strictness of his teaching, Aizawa would do anything to keep his students safe. On multiple occasions, he has risked his life by using every ounce of his power to keep his students from harm. His brutally honest criticisms are his means of ensuring that his students overcome their faults and reach their full potential.

Personality… stoic, logical, and apathetic. Aizawa rules his classroom with incredible sternness, but he is quick to support his students whenever they need emotional assurance. His cleverness in deception makes him a formidable opponent and brilliant instructor.
