Character Analysis

Grew Up… in Wiskayok, New Jersey. Shauna was used to being seen as second best in high school when compared to her more popular and conventionally attractive best friend, Jackie. The two played on the same soccer team together, the Yellowjackets. Shauna excelled in her classes, ultimately getting accepted to Brown University.
Living… in her same hometown. Shauna never accepted the offer from Brown because she married her old best friend’s boyfriend, Jeff Sadecki. Together they have a daughter, Callie.
Profession… suburban housewife and mother, both of which she does rather unhappily.
Interests… fitting in, wherever she is—first as her popular best friend Jackie's sidekick and now as Jeff's housewife.
Relationship Status… deteriorating. Shauna’s personal life is suffering, as her marriage reveals itself to be less than perfect. This adds more tension to the already strained relationship she has with her daughter. As Shauna admits out loud, “I don’t even like my daughter.”
Challenge… keeping what happened in 1996 a secret. On the way to nationals, the Yellowjackets experience a traumatic event, and Shauna is determined to make sure the truth never gets out.
Personality… reserved but with a hidden wild and reckless streak. It can be easy to overlook Shauna, as she often is by others. But Shauna's repressed darker side shows up occasionally and brutally. Her destructive personality has become something that doesn’t even shock her anymore.
