Senor Chang

Living… on the brink of insanity in Greendale, Colorado.

Profession... Spanish professor at Greendale Community College for the last decade. The self-titled “El Tigre Chino” (The Chinese Tiger), Chang is one of the angriest, loudest professors at the school. It’s an impressive title, given the percentage of true weirdos on campus.

Relationship Status… divorced from his wife Alessandra. It takes a toll on Chang, and he takes out his anger out on his students. He teaches them the words they might use to describe her, and they’re not kind. It gets so bad that his most outgoing student, Jeff Winger, tries to bring them back together.

Challenge... holding onto his sanity as his bad breaks snowball. He’s been kicked out of his house and accused of forging his teaching credentials. With nowhere else to go, he sets up camp in the school’s ventilation system. 

Personality... loud, obnoxious, self-absorbed, and deeply sad. Chang overcompensates for his unlucky streak in life by abusing his power as a professor, making his students’ lives miserable. But we try to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his off-kilter demeanor and erratic behavior is just an extreme way to get the best out of his students.
