Overview… a free-spirited San Franciscan who owns her own pet grooming company, Barking Mad. It’s easy to mistake Sara for a New Age nitwit – she’s almost pathologically kind, animal-obsessed, and concerned with matters of the human spirit. But it’s men that she’s interested in, particularly men who have forgotten how to live. “I have a gift,” she says, “a special ability to help men with problems.” Her latest project is a man named Nelson.
Personality…. optimistic, wide-eyed, and sensual. Sara takes a different man in each month with the hope of reforming him. Unlike the rest of the busy, business-oriented world, Sara is in touch with her own soul. As she tells Nelson, “You live in a box. I could lift the lid.”

Nelson is a man devoted to his advertising career in San Francisco. One day, while taking a driving test at the DMV, he meets Sara. She is very different from the other women in his life. Nelson causes her to miss out on taking the test and later that day she tracks him down. One thing leads to another and Nelson ends up living with her through a November that will change his life forever.
