Sans

Living… in the playful and lively town of Snowdin. Whether it’s chatting at the bar, making bad jokes, or playing pranks on his uptight brother, Papyrus, there’s lots of light-hearted fun to be had in Snowdin. But when a human named Frisk enters the town, it may become a lot quieter.

Profession… sentry and guardian. Sans has been a hot dog vendor and stand-up comedian, and now he is a sentry. Sans is expected to look out for and capture humans, but he can often be found asleep on the job.

Interests… making others laugh. Through eye paint on a telescope, unscrewed ketchup bottle, and skeleton puns, Sans is devoted to making the human have a laugh if he thinks they deserve it. He does the same for his fellow monsters through practical jokes and occasional stand-up comedy. As long as he’s able to tell jokes to his brother and friends, you won’t have a bad time with him.

Relationship Status… single. Although they haven’t seen each other face-to-face, he regularly meets with Toriel, a monster on the other side of the door to Snowdin, so they can tell bad jokes to each other through the door. They may grow closer if given the chance.

Challenge… protecting his friends and brother. He cares deeply for his brother and friends, so he naturally wants to protect them from potential threats, which includes the new human, Frisk. However, he vaguely alludes to a promise he made to keep Frisk safe. Unfortunately, it may be impossible to keep his pledge to Frisk and protect his brother and friends at the same time. Sans needs to find a creative solution fast. But even in challenging situations like this, Sans has a sense humor. As he says, "We are officially screwed every which way from Sunday with whipped cream and a Sans-shaped cherry on top, aren't we?"

Personality… laidback and jovial, at least on the surface. Sans gives off the impression that he only cares about having a good time with his brother, friends, and skeleton puns. However, he’s serious about justice and is cautious when he thinks someone poses a threat to his friends. When it comes down to it, Sans will show a much more intimidating side of himself to anyone that hurts his friends. Thankfully, he has his special attack up his sleeve. As he warns enemies, “Well, get ready, cause after the next move, I’m going to use it. So, if you don't wanna see it, now would be a good time to die."
