Character Analysis

Living… in Spain in a small home with his mother and brother Nano. Samuel’s mother is guarded and mysterious, while his brother is nothing but trouble. Their home often becomes the site of chaos as their three very different personalities and troubles clash.
Profession… new student at Las Encinas, an elite private school where students from the wealthiest families attend. Going to his previous school San Esteban wasn’t an option for Samuel; the roof collapsed due to faulty construction and injured Samuel and two other students. To make amends, the building company gave Samuel and the two other injured students scholarships to attend Las Encinas. Although it’s a great opportunity for him to get a better education, Samuel is struggling to fit in. Many of the wealthier students tend to look down on the scholarship students.
Relationship Status… in a relationship with Marina. Their connection is genuine, but there may be too many roadblocks for them to overcome. Their relationship has been quite a rollercoaster, including struggling with Marina’s health issue, their different socioeconomic backgrounds, other romantic interests, her family’s corruption, and a tragic event in which Samuel becomes a primary suspect.
Challenge… dealing with his brother Nano’s return home from jail. While Nano was in jail, he got into trouble that followed him into the outside world. Managing this becomes Nano’s top priority, and it often comes at the expense of Samuel’s safety and personal happiness. Despite this, Samuel tries his best to be a supportive brother.
Personality… sensitive, reserved, and insecure. Samuel is still coming into his own. Of the three scholarship recipients, he clearly has the least sense of self. He is not social and lacks connections with many of his classmates. His brother is also a largely negative influence in his life. Samuel is being forced to grow up fast given the convergence of his lifestyle changes from his brother’s return, to moving schools, and having his first romantic relationship.
