Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living... a normal life in Washington, D.C.

Profession... former soldier. Sam served in the United States Air Force as
“Falcon,” a special pararescueman who used high-tech jetpack wings to fly through the air. But when his partner was killed in action, Sam had a hard time figuring out a reason to stay in the military. So instead he retired and launched a support group for soldiers with PTSD.

Interests... the music of Marvin Gaye, jogging around D.C., cooking, helping people.

Relationship Status... single. Right now Sam’s most important relationship is with his best friend Steve Rogers.

Challenge... figuring out how to serve his country. Sam knows the military isn’t the right place for him, and while he’s happy helping other vets he sometimes feels like he could be doing more. So when Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America comes calling, Sam realizes it might be time to un-retire his Falcon wings and get back to stopping bad guys.

Personality... relaxed, honest, loyal, funny, and emotionally grounded. Sam isn’t necessarily a natural leader, but he makes a dedicated teammate. He once joked about his friendship with Captain America, “Don't look at me. I do what he does, just slower.” Though he may seem “normal” compared to the superheroes and spies he works with, he’s immensely brave and willing to risk his life for a cause – or a person – he believes in. Through it all, Sam always maintains his quippy, good-natured sense of humor.
