Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview… a high-strung New Yorker in the middle of a separation from her husband of several decades, Jack. While many call Sally “icy,” she prefers to see herself as refined. Though it’s precisely her intellectual snobbishness that has driven her husband away from her. While the two try to make their separation as amicable as possible, she’s finding it more difficult that she expected. “You’re great ‘til you start to show your age,” she says of men’s attitudes towards women. “Then they want a newer model.”

Personality… jaded, desperate, and neurotic. Sally has trouble keeping it all together when she’s nervous. The ease with which Jack seems to have found another young woman has thrown her through a loop and made her into a bit of a wreck. Best to stay out of her way when she’s on one of her anti-male diatribes.
