Sage

Overview... an overwhelmed teenager. When she winds up unexpectedly pregnant, 18-year-old Sage decides to have an abortion. The only problem is she doesn’t have the $630 she needs for the procedure and she’s afraid to tell her judgmental mother. So she reaches out to her bohemian grandmother, Elle, for help. Though Elle is also broke, the two women set out on a quest to raise the funds they need—come hell or high water.  

Personality... slightly timid and still growing up. Sage is still figuring out who she is, which is one of the biggest reasons she knows she’s not ready to have a baby yet. Like most teenagers, she can be insecure and swayed by peer pressure, but she also has an inner strength she inherited from both her poet grandmother and her businesswoman mother.
