Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview... a maverick FBI agent. Rupert Anderson is teamed with straight-laced agent Alan Ward to investigate a missing persons case in 1960s Mississippi, which is still reeling from desegregation. When three civil rights workers disappear, the FBI fears they were victims of racist foul play. But with white local law enforcement officials stubbornly refusing to cooperate and black residents too scared of retaliation to offer details, Anderson and Ward have to get creative to learn the truth of what happened.

Personality... charming, pragmatic, sarcastic, passionate, and tougher than he looks. At first glace, Anderson seems like a good ole Southern boy. He’s got a natural congeniality that makes people comfortable around him, but Anderson is far more progressive and shrewd than his warm disposition might suggest. He uses his charm to help with his investigations and if his people skills don’t work, he’s not afraid to break the rules and use less-than-legal methods to get the job done. He knows he’s living in an unjust world, and he hopes his righteous ends justify his sometimes questionable means.
