Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living... as an all around nice guy, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attends Jefferson High School. He visits the local hangout, Arnold’s Diner, nearly every day. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a milkshake and spend time with his best pals, Potsie, Ralph, and Fonzie.

Profession... a writer for the Jefferson High Bugle. Writing is Richie’s passion. Although he nurses dreams of becoming a scribbler, he plans on going to law school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Interests... music. You can often find Richie singing his favorite tune, Fat Domino’s, “Blueberry Hill,” whenever he is feeling lucky with the ladies. Other than music, Richie has a strange obsession with collecting miscellaneous signs to hang in his room. He also owns a couple of lamps depicting characters from his favorite childhood television show, “Howdy Doody.”

Relationship Status… single, but not by choice.

Challenge... finding a girlfriend. Richie doesn’t have much like with women. The quest for female company consumes his adolescent life, and he often lies to his friends about his various success and failures on the local dating scene.

Personality...  modest, upright, and clean cut. Richie is a quintessential American boy of the 1950’s. Focusing most of his free time on “chasing tail,” Richie frequently finds himself in innocent trouble with his parents while ambitiously scheming a way to get a date. Though frequent, these predicaments are usually minor, because whole-heartedly Richie is a softie with high morals.
