Ralph

Grew Up... in England, in the middle of a nuclear war. It's because of the war that Ralph is initially put on a plane to be evacuated. Until, that is, the plane crashes, and Ralph is left far from both home and civilization.

Visiting... a deserted island in the middle of the ocean. After surviving the plane crash, Ralph found himself on an island with several other boys. None of them have any idea where they are, or how to get back to civilization.

Profession... chief of the other boys. As one of the older boys on the island, Ralph is quick to point out the need for a leader, and he is voted into power. Leading several scared boys, however, is hardly easy. To keep peace Ralph often has to remind his new friends: "You voted me for chief. Now you do what I say."

Interests... making sure that his new friends are happy, while trying to find a way for them to escape.

Relationship Status... single. Ralph's only 12, so romance isn't high on his list of priorities. Plus, being stranded on a deserted island and fighting for survival is somewhat more important right now.

Challenge... keeping order. The younger boys keep murmuring about a dangerous "beast" on the island, and the violent Jack is quickly breaking down any sense of order. As a result, Ralph is desperate to return to civilization, but the other boys don't seem to share his interest. They can't even keep the fire lit, which frustrates Ralph to no end. Ralph complains to his friend, Piggy, “You’d think we could do that, wouldn’t you? Just a smoke signal so we can be rescued. Are we savages, or what?”

Personality... brave, practical, and charming. Though still young, Ralph is one of the more responsible boys on the island, using his power to look after the younger boys and help them all try to get back home. But Ralph's power quickly erodes, and all his well-intentioned decisions don't seem to stop the other boys from succumbing to the island's animalistic influences – and their own human nature.
