Overview... a single mother and career woman in London. She bonds with another man, Will, who appears to be raising a teenage son, Marcus. Rachel tries to get her son to bond with Marcus but soon discovers that the two are enemies at school. Her relationship with Will is also thrown into question when she discovers that Marcus is not actually his son.
Personality… strong and independent, but a bit lonely. Rachel has been single for a long time. She enjoys the opportunity to start seeing Will, but quickly realizes that Will is not as career-driven as she is – nor is he really driven by or toward anything in particular whatsoever. For Rachel, it’s really a question of whether she believes that Will brings enough positives to her life to overcome his significant flaws.

Will Freeman is a hip Londoner who one day realizes that his friends are all involved with the responsibilities of married life and that leaves him alone in the cold. Passing himself off as a single father, he starts to meet a string of single mums, confident in his ability to leave them behind when they start to ask for a commitment. But Will's hope of a continued bachelorhood is interrupted when he meets 12-year old Marcus, in many ways his complete opposite.
