Grew Up… in a middle-class family. Rachel was raised by a hard-working mother, who she is very close with. 

Visiting… a five-star resort in Maui for her honeymoon. Rachel was just married to Shane Patton, and they are staying at The White Lotus. They’re staying in the most luxurious suite that Rachel has ever seen, but Shane is disappointed. It’s not the suite his mother paid for, and he is determined to make things right.

Profession… aspiring journalist. Rachel is a freelance writer who has writes listicles like “10 Badass Women Changing the Tech World” that profiled a CEO she has met at the resort. She’s been approached about writing another article with a deadline during her honeymoon, but Shane doesn’t understand why she wants to work at all. He has enough money for her to give up her career and focus on charity work.

Interests… reading. Rachel is enjoying lounging by the resort’s pool with her latest book.

Relationship Status… married to Shane Patton. Rachel met him after a bad breakup, and it was love at first sight for them both. They had a whirlwind romance, going to the most exclusive restaurants and clubs in Manhattan with doors opening for Shane everywhere they went. After he proposed with a gorgeous ring, Rachel said yes without hesitation and got caught up in all the wedding details. Without any distractions, she now has time to get to know Shane better. But the more she see, the more questions she has.

Challenge… wondering if she may have made a mistake marrying Shane. Rachel is coming to realize that Shane mainly likes her for her looks. But what happens when her looks fade? And Rachel is concerned about his meddling mom, who joined them on their honeymoon without being invited. If they end up getting divorced, they have a prenup, but it’s not enough money for Rachel to be secure. She is not sure she should give up her job if things are uncertain about their future.

Personality… kind, friendly, and honest. While her Shane has no problem ordering staff around for his comfort, Rachel finds issue with putting herself before others. She is independent, which makes it hard for her to transition into the housewife that Shane aspires for Rachel to become. As Rachel says, she wants to be more respected in their relationship: “I don’t want to be a plus-one my whole life.”
