(Avoiding Spoilers)
Living… in beautiful, sunny Hawaii, where the livin’ is easy and the beaches are strewn with newlyweds.
Profession… hotel receptionist. Rachel works behind the front desk of Turtle Bay Resort and often goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. She even gives newly single Peter Bretter free access to the hotel’s expensive Kapua suite in order to help him get over his heartbreak.
Interests... going on strenuous hikes and jumping off cliffs. Rachel likes taking risks and she encourages Peter to do the same, even if she needs to question his masculinity (jokingly, mostly) in the process.
Relationship Status… single. Rachel’s jerk of an ex-boyfriend cheated on her even after she dropped out of school and moved to Hawaii to be with him. She has been a bit emotionally closed off ever since.
Challenge… helping Peter get over his ex-girlfriend. Most people go to Hawaii to spend quality time with their significant other. Peter is there to mourn the demise of his relationship with TV actress Sarah Marshall. Rachel is doing what she can to cheer him up.
Personality… independent and sassy. Rachel makes it clear that she can take care of herself: “You don’t have to dote on me. I’m not that type of girl.”
