Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up... in the tiny Eastern European country of Sokovia. The Maximoff family, including Pietro’s twin sister Wanda (a.k.a. Scarlet Witch), was a happy one for a time. But a tragedy in his early years left Pietro (a.k.a. Quicksilver) hating America and seeking revenge against weapons dealer Tony Stark.

Living... with HYDRA, an evil organization he’s been living with since they began conducting experiments on him and his sister.

Profession... a human weapon. Many dissatisfied Sokovians signed up as subjects for HYRDA’s scientific experiments, but only Wanda and Pietro survived the process. HYDRA’s testing imbued him with the ability to run at lightning-fast speeds. He moves so fast, he appears as a blur to those around him.

Interests... protesting for justice, showing off his powers, and throwing insults. He loves to rile up the Avengers by yelling, “Keep up, old man!” as he speeds away.

Relationship Status... single. Pietro’s mission of revenge is all-consuming, which leaves little time for romance. Instead he draws strength from the deep emotional bond he shares with his twin sister, of whom he feels very protective.

Challenge... playing well with others. Pietro has spent his whole life rebelling against something. While he’ll team up with anyone who can help him on his revenge mission, Pietro doesn’t really trust anyone other than his sister. But if he truly wants to protect his homeland, he’ll need real allies. Which means he has to sort out who is actually fighting for justice and figure out a way to work with them.

Personality... cocky, hotheaded, aggressive, and temperamental. Pietro doesn’t just move fast, his emotions also hurtle between extremes; he’s quick to anger and frustrated by how slow the rest of the world is. His superhuman abilities have made him cocksure and headstrong, and he thinks of himself as invincible – something he loves to brag about. But Pietro doesn’t ultimately want personal power; he just wants to protect his war-torn people.
