Prince Jing

Grew Up… being trained as a warrior. Prince Jing grew up with his childhood best friend Lin Shu training side by side. Lin Shu went on to become a marshal in the Chiyan army before his supposed death, and Prince Jing has been repelling barbarians and invaders out of the Liang border. Unfortunately, Lin Shu is now dead, and Prince Jing is determined to clear his name.

Living… in exile. Prince Jing has been exiled for years to the borders of the Liang empire, under the guise of guarding the border. He is a low-ranking prince and unfavored by the emperor, so no one even thinks of Prince Jing to be in the running for the throne. However, he has just finished his military duties and can finally return to the capital.

Profession… Prince of the Liang empire. Though Prince Jing doesn’t have much political influence or allies, he is respected by his soldiers for his upright and honest character, as well as his skill in battle.

Relationship Status… single. A Prince must have a wife, but marriage isn’t a pressing concern right now.

Challenge… ending the corrupted reign of the emperor and clearing the name of the Chiyan army. Though Prince Jing doesn’t want the throne for himself, the mysterious Mei Changsu convinces him that he is the ablest and righteous among the princes to take the throne. The pugilist leader has pledged to help Prince Jing with the required scheming and strategizing to take power. Prince Jing knows he can’t rule without Mei Changsu’s willingness to do the dirty work for him.

Personality… honest, loyal, and principled. Prince Jing is a military man through and through, sticking to laws and his morals with a steely resolve. And he’s committed to bringing righteousness to the Liang empire. As he says to Mei Changsu, “When befriending good people, you don’t need too many artifices. As long as I am sincere, they will return in kind.”
