Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview... a reclusive English gentleman who is determined to win a wager. Fogg might have just made the mistake of his life. Normally a serious man, Phileas Fogg shocks the members of his wealthy Victorian club when he bets twenty thousand pounds that he can travel around the world in eighty days. Now with his fortune in the balance, Phileas embarks with his valet, Jean Passepartout, to circumnavigate the globe and win his wager.

Personality... intelligent, reserved, and methodical, but not without a taste for danger. A man who fired his previous valet for making his shaving water two degrees too cold, Fogg is considered an eccentric by most of his acquaintances. And his wager– while unexpected– only confirms this reputation. In traveling the world so quickly, Fogg has little time to dawdle, but that doesn't mean he won't stop to right the wrongs he encounters on his trip.
