Pepper

Grew Up… abandoned by her family at a young age following the death of her sister’s baby, who was brutally murdered under suspicious circumstances. Pepper was blamed for drowning her sister’s baby and cutting its ears off. A demon certified her as being innocent, but as for the demon’s standards on what that means, who knows. Whether or not she killed her sister is unclear, but she has been treated as a monster ever since. Pepper was moved to an orphanage, but the place was void of love. As an adult, Pepper was locked up in an asylum at Briarcliff Manor.

Profession… performing member in a circus run by Elsa Mars. When Pepper was at Briarcliff, she met Elsa, a lavishly dressed woman who promises to give her a better life if she joins her as an act on her freak show. With Elsa, she’d have more than a place to live, she’d have a community. The show was full of others who understood the feeling of being ostracized by society, and they cared for her better than anyone else had.

Relationship Status… married to Salty. Well, the marriage was mainly performative, but there’s no denying that the two have big crushes on each other.

Challenge… being treated unfairly her entire life. To this day, Pepper maintains her innocence and denies she ever killed her sister’s baby. But as Pepper says, “That's how it works for us freaks. We get blamed for everything."

Personality… sweet and childlike. Pepper is always trying to find someone new to play with who is just as excited as she is. And she gives strangers flowers to make them happy. Though Peppper isn’t always all smiles. If she’s crossed, she’ll stand up for herself. As she tells Dr. Arden, the physician and administrator of Briarcliff, "Why don't you go to your whore nun and have her soothe your deflated ego?"
