Character Analysis

Overview… a specialist in men who’ve yet to leave their parents’ nest. Paula is a professional girlfriend of sorts. She is, in her words, “a professional motivator.” As she explains: “Many young men who should be able to move out simply can’t. It’s called failure to launch, and that’s where I come in.” She’s recently been hired by two desperate parents who want their son, a 35-year old man named Tripp, to move out of their attic. Tripp, though, is turning out to be more difficult to crack than she expected.
Personality… beautiful, flirtatious, and (due to the nature of her job) slightly manipulative. Paula has spent her entire career tricking men into falling in love with her. She hasn’t experienced a real relationship in quite a while, and the prospect almost frightens her.

Tripp, an attractive man in his thirties, is still living with his parents Al and Sue. Tripp's best friends Demo and Ace are also still living in their parents' homes and seem proud of it. Al and Sue are not happy, however, and are fascinated when friends whose adult son has recently moved away from home reveal they hired an expert to arrange the matter and couldn't be happier with the result.
