Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living... boldly, in New York City. No matter what she’s doing, Patty always tries to find the joy in it.

Profession... MTA worker. Patty is content, if a little unsatisfied, with her job. So when a ghost-spotting in her subway station brings her in contact with paranormal investigators Abby Yates, Erin Gilbert, and Jillian Holtzmann, she decides to join forces with them and form the Ghostbusters. As she explains, “You guys are really smart about this science stuff, but I know New York.” Plus she can even hook them up with a sweet vehicle that just happens to be a hearse from her uncle’s funeral parlor.

Interests... New York history. Patty loves reading non-fiction books about her city. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of New York’s old buildings, roads, and historical events.

Relationship Status... single. Protecting New York leaves her little time for dating.

Challenge... defending New York City. Not only are there everyday ghosts to deal with, something bigger is going on too. Someone or something is allowing ghosts to cross over in mass, and it’s up to the Ghostbusters to stop it. Patty’s knowledge of New York comes in handy as the Ghostbusters scramble to figure out what’s going on.

Personality... upbeat, boisterous, no-nonsense, and caring. Patty is an inherently friendly person, even though her kind-heartedness is frequently underappreciated by grumpy MTA travelers. But she’s also a tough New Yorker who knows how to look out for herself. And she has a healthy dose of self-confidence too. She once joked, If it's a crime to look good, guilty as charged.” No matter what, however, Patty is loyal to her new Ghostbusters friends. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do to protect them.
