Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview… Jonathan Randall is a minor knight and a captain in the English army during the time of the Jacobite rebellion. He is well known among the Scots for being a sadistic commander and for using his authority to take goods and “services” from the local population. He is particularly intrigued by the appearance of one Claire Beauchamp in his patrol area, since she is very shifty about where she comes from. A spy, perhaps?
Personality… sadistic and controlling, Randall takes pleasure in exerting his influence for his own gain. He conceals his darker personality under the exterior of a charming British officer, which fools his higher-ups. People below him are rarely able to complain to anyone who could help them.
