Nomi Marks

Grew Up… in a religious upper-class family with parents who are less than supportive of her transgender identity. Her father forced Nomi to join the swim team in order to “become a man,” while her mother insists on calling her by her birth name Michael.

Living… in San Francisco. Nomi works as a political blogger and hacker advocating for LGBTQ rights. 

Interests…  attending Pride Parades, blogging about her life, asking herself WWND – what would Nancy Drew do?

Relationship Status… deeply in love with her supportive girlfriend Amanita. Amanita is fiercely protective of Nomi. As a plus, Amanita is the only significant other of the Cluster – a telepathically linked group from around the world – to immediately accept that some weird but not necessarily bad stuff is going down.

Challenge… figuring out what is up with her brain. Nomi is seeing strangers, displaying abilities that don’t belong to her, and feeling connected to seven other people from around the world. The doctors say that she has a tumor that will kill her in less than a year unless she undergoes an aggressively invasive surgery. But, are they telling the truth?

Personality… brave, clever, and true to herself. Nomi refuses to apologize for being who she is or loving who she loves. She helps other members of her Cluster come to terms with self-acceptance as well.
